The lightweight trowel from Tye Works is specially designed for digging small cat-holes in soft to medium compacted soil. It is not suitable for use in heavily compacted soils or rocks. Attempting to dig in such tough terrain may result in breakage, but feel free to give it a shot. If you do happen to break it, simply send it back to us and we will promptly send you a replacement. The trowel is crafted for comfort and convenience, weighing in at a mere ounce.

Weighing about 32g (1oz.) without the lanyard, each trowel is hand shaped and polished, resulting in slight variations in appearance. The color of the lanyard may also vary. Made from 16 gauge (1/16") aluminum sheet, the Tye Works Backcountry Trowel is sturdier than other wilderness trowels by up to 50%. Rest assured, it comes with a lifetime guarantee. If you encounter any issues, simply return it to us for a replacement. Measuring just over 6" in length, it is perfect for measuring the depth of your hole.

Handcrafted in Washington State using post-production materials, this trowel is not anodized to avoid the use of caustic etching agents. All edges, except the front, are carefully rounded and polished by hand to ensure both comfort and safety.
